Key Highlights

Best Bottle Prices and Only Complete Set in the US

As of release, this collection is the only complete set of both Karuizawa Ruby Geisha bottles on offer in the United States and features an entry price below the US Market prices for the individual component bottles.

Less than 250 Bottles of Each Ruby Geisha Ever Made

There were 247 Ruby Geisha 34-year produced and only 223 bottles of the Ruby Geisha 38-year produced. This limited production is compounded by the fact that the distillery has been closed for over two decades and that the supply of Karuizawa whisky is finite.

Karuizawa and Japanese Whisky Continue to Outpace the General Market

At the time of collection launch, the RW101* Japanese 100 Index is up 13.85% YTD, whereas the RW Apex 1000 Index, which tracks the broader whisky market, is only up 7.07%. Outdoing both of these, the Karuizawa Distillery Index is up 16.30% YTD, demonstrating the strong global demand for Japanese whisky and Karuizawa in the global market. *RW101 - Rare Whisky 101.

Collection Description

In January of 2022, we launched our first Karuizawa Collection, and it received unprecedented demand. We are excited to offer another set of whiskies from the world-famous (and permanently closed) distillery, this time from the Karuizawa Geisha Series. The series is released in sets of two bottles at a time with corresponding geisha artwork on the labels that work together when side-by-side to complete a visual. The Ruby Geisha bottles featured in this collection are the 8th and most current two-bottle release in what will ultimately be a nine-part series. The two bottles in this collection feature 34 and 38-year old whisky, matured in single sherry butts and made in extremely small quantities. There were a minuscule 247 bottles of the 34-year produced and only 223 of the 38-year. As the penultimate releases in the collection, the Ruby Geishas have received global attention and were released exclusively via a lottery system in 2021. As the final release in the series looms, the worldwide interest and demand for the Karuizawa Geisha Series appear poised to grow. The demand for these bottles is also driven, in part, by the fact that the Karuizawa distillery is no longer producing whisky. The distillery closed in 2001 and was torn down in 2016, ensuring that no new whisky will ever be produced. Over the past five years, Karuizawa has quickly climbed to prominence and now competes with Yamazaki for claim to the “most expensive whisky in the world”. Over the past five years, the RW101* Karuizawa Index has seen over 300% growth, with the momentum carrying into 2022 with 16.30% growth YTD. This growth has outpaced both the broader Japanese whisky market and global whisky market on the whole thus far in 2022. Building on the positive performance signals noted above, there are currently no complete two-bottle sets of the Ruby Geisha bottles for sale in the United States, making Vint’s offer turnkey for investors. Typically, collector’s sets are traded at a premium, but thanks to our strong sourcing partnerships, Vint is able to offer this collection below the US market price for the individual bottles, creating a favorable entry point for investment in this collection. The Vint Karuizawa Ruby Geisha Collection is another opportunity to own a stake in a set of whisky from one of the most sought-after producers on earth at a time when global demand for both Japanese whisky and Karuizawa continues to grow.
