Key Highlights

Upgrade Catalyst

Every 10 years, St. Emilion upgrades & downgrades producers. We believe Figeac will be promoted to the top class in the 2022 St. Emilion conference. Wines upgraded to the top class in 2012 outperformed by over 40%.

Innovation

Following the 2012 conference, where Figeac felt they deserved an upgrade, they innovated. With the addition of new team members, new technology, and estate modernization, Figeac is well-positioned for 2022.

Legendary Vintages

Two of the vintages we have selected received Legendary status, according to Wine Searcher. In addition to the Legendary status, Figeac’s scoring has been very strong since their internal investments.

Collection Description

In September 2012, the wine community of the St. Emilion region of Bordeaux gathered for their decennial classification conference. At this conference, only 4 chateaux were awarded the highest classification of Premiers Grands Crus Classés A. Left out of those 4 was Chateau Figeac. Following 2012, Figeac responded quickly by bringing in new team members, innovating, and producing great wines. We feel that Figeac has positioned themselves well for a potential upgrade in 2022. Using the 2012 St. Emilion upgrades as a proxy (outperformed the broader Bordeaux market by over 40% ), we like the risk-reward of these underlying wines.
